Who is Marbenjo?

Marbenjo is a car hire company based in Malaga. We are a company that works hard to keep the costs of hiring a car reasonable and that offers colletion points at various locations from Malaga airport, Malaga train station (Maria Zambrano) to hotels in the capital, Torremolinos, Benalmadena and Fuengirola.

How do I hire a car with Marbenjo?

You need to make a reservation through our website by using the form provided on Marbenjo.com, or by email through [email protected] When making a reservation via email please include, the date you need the service, what kind of vehicle is suited to your needs and the location and time of delivery and collection.

What requirements and documentation do I need to hire a car?

Be over 23 and under 75 years of age, with a minimum of 5 years of driving experience.
Have a credit card (Visa or Mastercard), for collateral and/or security.
3. At the time of signing the contract, you must submit original documentation: Passport or ID, driving license and credit card, no photocopies or faxes will be accepted.

Where can I see and get an idea of the prices of any optional extras?

Your car hire includes:

Unlimited mileage.
Main driver and first additional driver *.
Full insurance with excess (from €350).
Personal injury assistance.
Emergency 24h number exclusive to customers.
Road assistance 24/7.
V.A.T. Local fee and vehicle fee included.
Cross border to Gibraltar and Portugal.
First full tank to be paid on pick-up (over 3 days of rental). Excluded cargo and motor homes vehicles.

For pick-up and drop-off between 21:00 and 08:00, there is an extra charge of €30 per rental **.
For hotel/harbour and train station deliveries we ask for additional charges (from €10 per rental).
Additional driver €3 per day maximum €42.
Young driver €3 per day maximum €42 (23 and 24 years).
Full insurance with no excess from €4 per day (min. €15).
Insurance windscreen and tyres from €5 per day (min. €15).
Super all included insurance from €7 per day (min. €25).
Navigation system from €5 per day maximum €60 (depending on availability).
Baby, child or booster seat from €3 per day maximum €42.
Full/full fuel option.

What support do I get when I hire a car with Marbenjo?

Marbenjo provides the customer with a 24 hour contact phone number, a representative will be available for any questions, help or accident you may have during the rental period.

In case of an accident with a Marbenjo rental vehicle what I should do?

Firstly, stay calm and make sure all passengers are without injury, after checking that everyone is well and there are no serious injuries, make sure that the vehicle is not obstructing the direction of travel of other vehicles, if possible move to a better location.

Secondly, when the car is situated in a safe located, the driver and only the driver must wear a reflective vest and place the hazard warning triangles in front and behind the vehicle. Where there is another vehicle involved try to resolve the incident with the other party and get all contact information. Notify the Police by calling 112 and call Marbenjos emergency number to report what happened.

NOTE: If there is anyone seriously injured, urgently call 112 to send an ambulance to the scene as soon as possible.

What does it mean and what is the difference between FULL / FULL or FULL / EMPTY?

Full / Full and Full / Empty are terms used to define rent a cars fuel type contract.
Full / Full means the hire car is full of fuel when delivered and the customer must return the car full of petrol. If the car isn’t returned with a full tank of petrol, the difference will be charged as an appropriate penalty.
Full / Empty means the customer is given the car full of fuel; the customer pays the amount of the tank of petrol and then returns the car with an empty tank.

C.D.W and S.C.D.W. what do they mean and what do they cover?

C.D.W. and S.C.D.W. are terms used to differentiate the type of insurance purchased:

C.D.W. (Coverage and Collision Damage Waiver) is a basic insurance WITH EXCESS (€350, €400, €450, €500 or €700), above this amount the customer is covered (not including wheels/tyres and windscreens) negligence is not included in any case.
S.C.D.W. (Super Coverage and Collision Damage Waiver) is a basic insurance without excess, (wheels and glasses not included) negligence is not included at all.
Things that are not included in any case: Lost or stolen objects, loss of keys or wrong refuelling, under body of the vehicle, clutch burnt, negligence or misuse of the vehicle (*wheels, tires, glass and mirrors excluded paying additional specific insurance).

Is there a maximum number of days to hiring a car with Marbenjo?

The maximum number of days allowed in a single rental is 45 days. If more days are required, this can be arranged to complete the days required by the customer.

What are Marbenjo’s opening hours?

The opening hours of our office is 8:00a.m. to 10:00p.m, 365 days a year.

Is it possible to rent a car outside of Marbenjo’s opening hours?

Yes, you can hire the vehicle outside the opening hours of Marbenjo, but this will incurred an extra cost, as it carries extra charges to pay staff to work outside regular hours. In the case of this it is necessary to know the exact time of delivery or collection since the price varies due to time.

What is the minimum period of time to make a reservation?

The minimum period to ensure availability and a reservation is 24 hours in advance, with less time we could not guarantee a quality service or availability.

If I make a reservation via email, when should I expect a response?

Reservation times are 8:00 to 13:30 and 16:00 to 20:30, emails are answered chronologically to respect the order of entry and this can cause the response time to be between 5 minutes up to 24 hours depending on the influx of emails that are pending.

I want to cancel a reservation with Marbenjo, how should I do this?

You can cancel a reservation at no charge, provided it is not a group of special vehicles. To cancel contact [email protected] with the reservation number and state the reason for cancellation, our reservations centre will let you know that the reservation is cancelled as soon as possible.

I want to cancel a reservation but I paid through the site, will my money be returned?

Yes, except in the case where reservations are cancelled less than 48 hours in advance or a special vehicle group (group A+,B1, D, D1, E, E1, G, F, K, K1, H, M, N, S, Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4) has been reserved. In any case you will need to contact the reservation department by email [email protected] for personalised information.
